A traffic stop early Friday led to the arrests of two men on drug charges in the city of Auburn.
According to an Auburn Police Department news release, officers observed a vehicle leaving Harley's Pub on State Street. The traffic stop was initiated due to a turn signal violation.
Five people were inside the vehicle. One of the occupants was John Lombardo, 43, of Montezuma. Police arrested him because he had an active bench warrant issued by the Auburn City Court.聽
APD said officers found Lombardo had cocaine, a digital scale and "a significant amount of cash."聽
Officers discovered another passenger, Brian Nowak, had "multiple individually packaged quantities" of cocaine and a significant amount of cash, according to police. Nowak, 45, of Throop, was also arrested.聽
Lombardo and Nowak have been charged with third-degree and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, both felonies. The pair was transported to the Auburn Police Department, where they were processed and held for centralized arraignment.聽
