The residents of a Scipio trailer were displaced after it was destroyed in a fire on Sunday.
Scipio Fire Chief Tim Weir told Ë®¹ûÅÉAV that a call came in around 9:30 p.m. that night about a fire at a single-wide trailer at 2973 Sherwood Road.Â
The fire was under control by around 11 p.m., Weir said. Firefighters evacuated the structure because the roof was starting to cave in. All personnel left the scene by around midnight.Â
Weir said the trailer was a complete loss and the residents were displaced. They found temporary accommodations with family, but the Red Cross has reached out to them.
No injuries were reported, and the investigation into the cause of the blaze is ongoing.
The New York State Police, Cayuga County Emergency Management Office, Southern Cayuga Instant Aid, the Long Hill Fire Department and fire departments with Aurelius, Aurora, Genoa, Fleming, Locke, Moravia, Owasco, Poplar Ridge and Union Springs were also at the scene, Weir said.
